Well, it was a bad day, but Aly Morales is not to blame. Perhaps her colorful, annoying, inexplicably captivating personality will brighten up the magazine’s office, which has felt like a prison for the past year. Maybe she likes arguing with me in front of the editor. And perhaps my after-hours fantasies will be haunted by her brown eyes and her sharp tongue. For some secret reason, she works herself to death at six dead-end jobs. And she, she fixes everything. Don’t blame me for taking care of you. She is just a puzzle to be solved. If we can get her to stop, she can finally peel back all of these layers. That way I can go back to saving my family’s names and forget about the brunette who was drinking beer while dancing.
